A Way Through The Sea is written by Robert Elmer. It tells about the Jews in Denmark during World War II through the eyes of a eleven year old boy named Peter Andersen his twin sister, Elise and their Jewish friend, Hendrick. The whole story deals with the growing hostility in Denmark towards the Jews until finally Hendrick and his family has to escape, but stuff starts going wrong. Hendrick's family was supposed to leave with about twenty other Jews during the night, but when some of the Jews start to panic, Hendrick gets switched to a different car. Then, the car leaves without him and then the car gets captured by German soldiers! Peter and Elise help Hendrick get to the dock, where they hope the boat he was supposed to leave on hasn't left yet, but it's gone! Then, Hendrick slips and breaks his arm! Now the only other way Hendrick can escape is by a small rowboat and because he broke his arm Peter and Elise has to go with him, while German subs patrol the water! Join Peter, Elise and Hendrick as they find A Way Through The Sea.
